Just a little bit slower...
Speed rattles my heart,
Speed rattles my mind.

Too fast to keep smart,
Too fast makes me blind.

"Slow down,"
All of me screams.

"Slow down,"
I can't hear, it seems.

Speed increases velocity
And tears fragile threads
With such ruthless ferocity.

The edges line with reds.

Colors sink into the broken strings,
Dying them down to my core.
Wine pools there and strongly stings,
What an image of pure gore.

I tear my feelings out and gaze
Upon their soaking wet maze.
If only it were a bit slower
This pain would be much lower...

Just a bit slower...
Just a little bit slower...

And I may have found myself,
                             not in a chase,
But at the mercy of a loving embrace...
