short story
When I woke up in the middle of the night I see something in the corner. It shows up for a few seconds then I blink, I'm sure I saw it. I stare at the same spot for eternity. Until I come to my senses and think monsters aren't real. I turn off the light and go to sleep. The clock is no help tick-tock. I hear a slight pressure on the wood floorboard, is it there. Sweat is covering my body I don't want to turn on the light, but I work up the courage to click the light switch. I instantly look on the other side of my body, just my shadowed room. I don't feel like going to bed. Light is my weapon against it. The invisible creature is still in my room I hear it sometimes. the uneasy sense of being watched.
