prompt phrase from Writer's Cramp
Had time stood still, no care of mine
if one man stops his hands of time.
Thumbs through the scrapbook of his mind
then stops the clock's incessant wind.

To revel in the pleasant thought
forever lost to time and cost.
I'll not deny the right he earns
to stop the moment his heart yearns.

But when it comes to tribe and clan
we cannot stop time's busy hand.
For who of us, one man it be
should choose to freeze eternity?

While you in rapture live so fair
your moment traps me in despair.
As you in stolen moment kiss
My tears fall loved one missed.

For time is each man's potpourri
his blend of joy and agony.
He culls the days to choose at will
the moment lived - Had Time Stood Still.
