Alliance

Two rivals need to work together.

Two rivals emerged one day;
they set aside their differences,
decided to cooperate
for the good of humanity
when faced with a novel challenge:
Earth at risk, a sinister force
needing both heroes.  Mighty Dove,
as well as Liquid Orange Sunlight;
both would battle this evil force,
a swarm of wicked from on high, 
otherworldly entities ghastly
filling the sky like scaly things,
darkening the sun, raining woe.
Mighty agreed, Liquid agreed;
they would set aside pettiness,
stow pride in waste receptacles,
and take each other by the hand
to fight for the whole of humanity,
to tote the banner, Earth as One,
declaring solidarity.
Drawing strength from each other,
a synergistic energy erupted
like Vesuvius blast,
or supernova far off
disturbing atoms in the void,
heating freeze until it fused.
Sky grew clear, and atmosphere
excelled to where the blue cried out,
in celebration of them both—
Mighty Dove, Liquid Orange Sunlight 
laughing heartily at sunset,
waiting for another full moon,
faces full of contented ease
in their work together.
