Clouds gather above the Rocky Mountains |
| Crashing against the Rocky Mountains charcoal clouds promise hope against rising temperatures and the expanding drought. Will the rains come to his ocean of sand before the drought sucks the life out of both man and animal. We pray for rain-- waves of cleaning water-- to wash away the memory of our thirst. We watch the clouds-- like sailors watching for a lighthouse in rough seas-- for the quick, bright flashes of power indicating the rains are coming. We listen to the myths, that say if seagulls accompany the clouds we can expect a rain storm. Poet's Note: ▶︎ |
