Sometimes love isn’t enough
In my heart I knew I couldn’t let you go
You were too important for me to lose
I tried hard to help repair our foundation
But the turmoil left me in the outskirts of our love

Then I saw you determined to get me back
Hope reigned like a new dawn in my soul
If only you could have given me time to heal us
I would have shown you the way back to our destiny

Once you had me close you pushed me back
Your harsh words burned me like a raging fire
You think I don’t care about your excruciating pain
But I hurt immensely for yours as well as my own

I tried so hard to save you from your inner voices
I would have stood by your side no matter what
My heart broke for the last time as you pulled away
I watched a most beautiful love die in the cold

I never thought you would give up on us
Our love was worth every bit of fight
But the darkness inside of you wins again
What is left are two souls cruelly ripped apart

I will always remember your words and loving touch
The way you once cared so deeply for me
I always thought we’d have our rainbow one day
But sometimes love just isn’t enough
