A Poem about lost identity through illness

Lost Boy, Weep

*Vine2*

My ailment has left me forsaken, forlorn, a freak
Dreams splintered in which I wander bleak

*Vine2*

Inside I am the same slim, handsome boy
That sickness blighted, my body, destroyed

*Vine2*

In your eyes I no longer see any love for me
I’m a pariah, an outcast, an evictee

*Vine2*

I pine mean fate, the misanthropic flirt and coy
For now I live in fear and hurt, devoid

*Vine2*

Took him that was a blessed joy, carefree
Left, persona non grata, maladroit, unhappy

*Vine2*

My malady is now my yoke but by ploy
Bereft, my isolation’s cloaked, as decoy

*Vine2*

Lost value, and gone my self esteem
I long for that which might have been
