The Toronto Blue Jays defeated the Tampa Bay Rays last night in extra innings 6-5.
Tampa's Brandon Lowe opened the scoring in the bottom of the first inning with a solo home run.
Teoscar Hernandez tied the game with a solo home run at the top of the second inning.
Then, Vladmir Guerrero Jr. hit a solo home run.
Lourdes Gurriel Jr. drove in Brandon Drury with a double.
Finally in the second, Randal Grichuk drove in Cavan Biggio with a single.
At the bottom of the third inning, Yandy Diaz hit a solo home run to make it a 4-2 game.
In the bottom of the sixth inning, Tampa tied the game 4-4 when Jose Martinez drove in Lowe and Diaz with a double.
At the top of the 10th inning, Biggio drove in Drury with a double to put the Jays ahead 5-4.
Biggio then scored on a sacrfice fly by Gurriel Jr. later in the 10th.
In the bottom of the 10th inning, Diaz drove in Lowe with a single.
Gurriel Jr. went 1 for 4 at the plate and had two RBIs.
Toronto's starting pitcher, Matt Shoemaker, went five innings, allowing four hits, two earned runs, a walk and struck out six batters.
Diaz went three for three at the plate and had two RBIs.
Tampa's starter, Ryan Yarbrough, went 6.1 innings, allowing eight hits, four earned runs, two walks, and struck out six batters.
The Jays continue their four game series tonight.
