The ghost of you is too much here.
When did you decide we couldn't be friends?
I don't know why thoughts of you have endured.
You said sorry for the hurt you caused: ends
Silence unbroken should have been secured.

I don't know why thoughts of you have endured
So I write to say the unsaids of us.
I am sorry I made your mind injured
By saying you're not bad; more to discuss.

You said sorry for the hurt you caused: ends
Love lost, but those were years of agony.
"Did you want to marry me?" makes no amends
For no. I wanted to marry Andy.

Silence unbroken should have been secured.
I left thinking we'd be friends, Y2K.
I don't say: your wry humour I savoured.
Tell me, was there anything else to say?

So I write to say the unsaids of us.
I'm in Halifax again, missing you.
"I will always love you," you said of us.
Is there someone to congratulate you?

When did you decide we couldn't be friends?
I would like to cooperate, so this
Is to say sorry for the hurt I caused: ends
What? O'er misunderstandings reminisce.

I am sorry I made your mind injured.
There's so much that happened, I never say.
I hope this purge works, else you're my muse. Gingered
Memories' radioactive decay.
