Mary's Lamb

Contest entry.

Mary had a little lamb
How no one really knows

And everywhere that Mary went
The lamb brought quite a show

She allowed it in school one day
Which was against the rules

It made the children laugh and play
To see Mary's lamb at school

And the teacher turned it out
But it sued as they feared

And it stayed in school patience won out
Mary and her lamb cheered.

Why does the lamb love Mary so?
The eager children cry

The lamb is Mary's child you know
The teacher did reply.
