The Jays went ahead 2-1 in the bottom of the second inning with a two run homer by Lourdes Gurriel Jr.
The Jays scored five runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to go ahead 7-1.
First, the Mets walked in a run.
Then, Santiago Espinal hit a three run double.
Finally, Danny Jansen drove in Espinal with a single.
At the top of the eighth inning, Todd Frazier drove in J.D. Davis with a single.
The Mets scored their final run later that same inning.
Espinal had three RBIs yesterday.
Toronto starting pitcher, Hyun-Jin Ryu, went six innings, allowing eight hits, an earned run, no walks, and struck out seven batters.
Smith went two for four at the plate and had two RBIs.
Met's starter, David Peterson, went five innings, allowing three hits, two earned runs, two walks, and struck out two batters.
The Jays have a day off today before heading to New York to play the Yankees tomorrow night.
