My entry to the second round of the Harry Potter contest. Slytherins rule!
A Perilous Night

They crawled up from the forest floor,
obsidian colored eyes pinned to the boy;
a quivering mess of a child with flaming
red hair and glasses smudged with dirt.

He was a young one, only twelve in the human’s world,
though none of that mattered to the starving arachnids;
they needed a food source and he would do wonderfully.

Marching with snarls of rabid hunger, the
fuzzy beasts crowded him. Yes, he would
do well for their hungry stomachs. With a click
of their fangs, they lunged towards their meal.
