what I'm thankful for...
When all the world seems wrong,
my soul learns to be strong
and thinks how to keep sanity
within a world of such vanity.

When all my friends are gone,
it's time for me to be strong,
think of how they kept me
from going insanely lonely.

When all the world is hushed,
I walk into the street
with nothing but shorts, bare feet.
Nothing in cool black seems rushed.

I'm thankful for freedom,
a place I can be me.
Even though I don't see them,
friendships are sustaining.

When all the people commune in their homes,
the animals and I will own this night alone.
