A short poem about wisdom and knowledge.
And when the books were read—
when the volumes were annotated
And when the lessons were learnt—
when the works were scrutinised:

Only then
did she sit on the Throne of Wisdom.

And when the world were explored—
when the cosmos were travelled through
And when every unreachable part
was suddenly within her grasp:

Only then
did she sit on the Throne of Wisdom.

When she learned the secrets
of the stars and beyond
When the knowledge of the world
were thrust upon her:

Only then
did she sit on the Throne of Wisdom.

When the Throne was sat upon
Only then
did she cry in despair:
Of the Truth, the Knowledge
the Wisdom

When all was learnt
and all was known

Only then
did she crave
for Innocence
for Purpose

And as she sat
on the Throne of Wisdom

Only then, did
she lament
the loss of Ignorance
and Meaning.
