Poem about the loss of a spouse.
Condolences flow like cheap wine
Strong to the tongue but thin on the mind
They are fleeting words from fleeing friends

Flowers stand as sentry, ever silent
They too will pass away and lie upon the ground
We will all have our moment and speak our parting words
Utterances that will will fall on deafened ears

Tomorrow I will rise while you will not
The sun will crack the darkness
The wind will blow as it always has
It will blow the same after we have met again

A thousand times I will hear your voice on its tongue
A thousand more, I will see your ghost
I must remember to be myself
Now I am I, and no longer one of us
