You Are My Only

A love letter to Jesus.

In a single bound you leaped into my life and carried my heart backward around the world, time after time until the damage was undone.

In my deepest moments of despair, you wore robes of white—an heir to the throne of heaven—and spoke gentle tidings of love and kindness into my spirit.

I longed for those times of still whisperings, and they came without much prayer. It was this, an awareness of your presence, that helped me succumb to the strength of your love.

Beyond the smokescreen of worldly mishaps, I knew fully that you forgave my repented sin, and you helped me to overcome. In this battle, no one could be a more fitting Drawbridge to God, and the biggest goal in life was to live well for you.

You are my only. Still. My heart shall not wander. If I allow you the honor—and give you the power—to be my Northern Star, your guidance will lead me into all truth and understanding, and then I will know true peace.
