Preferred to most people..
She was a loyal small sniffing hit
Brilliant, with practice learned how to sit
She’d jump into the lake on command
Stay put with simple movement of hand

Brown and white like a horse known as paint
Start with a jump, much like a beagle
Crawled under cover, slept quite - quaint
Had to try that Ma almost did faint

She’s a hound dog come home from the swamp
Stinking and screaming all hell broke loose
By the quarry horn she’d howl at dawn
Then pass out after shaking, fell - drawn

Might I not come back, chase after me
I would leave for work was constantly
Her legs gave in she was down and out
Loved a flea bath fur shiny to snout

Contrasting my thoughts about people
Sad in the end she was so feeble
I named her Pal and I liked her more
Oh my god, when I came in the door!
