A poem on music and life
A light breeze checks in, seeking orifices
The singer flinches In the unrelenting winter
Music flows by a medley of reprises
In a frenzy, from the guitar, jumps a splinter

King smiles as his drums play an able foil
His bullet-proof coffee steams on the wooden stand
Unique concoction with fresh beans and three drops of oil
The chill forgotten in the warmth of the energetic band

Two-toned jackets of the finest Mohair
Adorn the musicians in multi-colored wonder
Sways the crowd, hypnotized, hands in the air
The songs continue, nary a minuscule blunder

In the nearby swamps, the mosquito nest stirs
Agitated by the raucous melody
Tiny irritants hatch amongst the stately firs
To the flesh, they are drawn, parasites on life’s parody

Expensive system surreptitiously capture
Re-creating the beautiful music in a bootleg record
Humans prance unmindful of the bites, lost in rapture
For a while, a respite from humanity’s rampant discord
