It's a time for admiration, A time for respect. When we needed them, the wiser Adults stood behind Us. As teenagers, we tried to Pull the wool over Their eyes by getting in trouble, Thinking that we knew It all and we didn't. There was A time, by being Polite, gentlemen would open Up a car door for The ladies. This was thoughtful and Considerate of Them. Being younger, we should be Respectful of the Older ones; let them go ahead Of you in a line. Remember the time we had to Go somewhere? It was The parents who would take us there. When girls were asked out On a date to go to the prom, Young boys would wear a Tuxedo, while the girls would Wear a beautiful Evening gown. The guys would buy an Orchid to pin on Her dress. It was considered to Be prim and proper To have good manners. These days young Adults don't take the Time to do these things. It's time to Do these things. It's time To show respect; it's time to put These past traditions Back into our lives; the world would Be a better place If we would just practice these things.
