The Cuts

A poem I wrote for people who need hope

If you won’t ignore the world
And all of its shiny things
Then you’ll focus on your pain
Even though life stings

They say that they love you
And they make you happy and secure
But when they start to betray you
And you won’t be able to endure

And when the moment comes
And you’re alone and in the dark
You’re so-called ‘friends’ won't check up on you
And you’ll be cutting on the mark

So please ignore the insults
Close your eyes and shut them out
You’ll be thanking me once its over
Once the full picture has come about
