Toronto went ahead again at 9:15 of the second period with a goal by Alex Kerfoot.
Ottawa went ahead 4-2 with goals by Brady Tkachuk, Austin Watson, and Chris Tierney.
The Sens. went up 5-2 at 6:15 of the third period with a goal by Derek Stephan.
John Tavares scored Toronto's third goal at 7:07, but it wasn't enough as Ottawa walked away with the 5-3 victory.
Tkachuk had three points.
Tavares had two points last night.
Toronto is going to want to redeem themselves tonight against the Senators.
