Chapter 4: Adventures of Olivia Berns
| By now things started to become comprehensible. Olivia was constantly getting an intuition that she hasn't come there but someone has brought her. The lonely and once depressed Olivia started realizing some magic over there. She knew it was not an ordinary jungle. The more mysterious it was, the more Olivia wanted to explore.
"Don't stay here. Let's find some place to sleep and then tomorrow morning we will start our journey", said Olivia.
"What to find? Don't we already have the cave to stay?", Anne interrupted.
"No. It is a time catching cave and we don't know yet that it is safe or not. I think we should first make some fire. It's getting cold here."
"Okay. Let me help for today but tomorrow surely we are going to find a way to get out of this peculiar place", Jack spoke.
The three kids started searching for wood and created fire over a place. They spread large banana leaves on ground and sat there.
Next morning, Jack awakened first. "Olivia! Anne! Wake up girls. No need to stay here any longer. Its morning already."
Olivia murmured," Can't we stay here for just today? Please Jack. We will surely leave this place after evening."
Though Jack denied at first, he agreed to her upon more insisting.
"Yay! Let's have more fun. At least we don't need to complete our assignments here", Anne laughed.
Next morning, Anne woke up first. The weather was clear and bright. She was puzzled by the way the jungle changed. Now it had a constant flowing river and some eucalyptus trees. An uncanny sound was coming from the deep. She went inside, trying to explore something on her own. But soon she realized what Jack had said yesterday. Thus she returned back to take them along.
What she saw was more direful. Olivia and Jack were missing! "Oh darn! Where have the two gone, what should I do now" she scratched her hair while stamping her feet hard.
"Where are you Anne?"
"Are you there?"
Some distant screams were coming. She followed the voices and found her friends at the opening of the cave.
"Have you noticed something Jack?"
"No matter wherever we go, whenever we are lost, we always end up coming to this place as if the cave itself summons us here."
"Not true. You are overthinking, Olivia."
"But Jack, I think she is right. I myself have witnessed this morning that the routes have changed, places are relocated and new streams and trees have formed. Nothing is constant."
" So shall we enter the cave?"Olivia asked in a hesitating voice.
Olivia, Jack and Anne entered the cave and were now determined to find its other end. They already picked some fresh fruits, refilled their water bottles and here THE JOURNEY BEGINS.
