childhood memory
Chloe tried,

And tried,

And tried.

The plan was simple.

Learn to fly.

She climbed on top

Of an old van roof

Where a lazy cat

With a boring look,

Blinked it eyes

And gently purred,

When the umbrella opened

It barely stirred.

Then a little body

Sprung into flight

A fearless jump,

With her breath held tight.

Rainbow colors

dip and swing,

Lending their drift

Again and again

But over and over

She blamed the wind.

And the lazy cat

Annoyed and bored

Swished it's tail,

And went back to it’s nap.
