Just a stop along the road
Pennsylvania

I asked my friend Ronnie
From Bay Bulls,
If he knew their was
A Newfoundland
In the wilds of Pennsylvania.

He had been there
But I had not
And the locals
Didn’t care about my tales
Of a rock of an island.

So I filled up
With expensive gas
In my Covid mask
And road weary jeans
And left with a lighter wallet.

I found a new land
In Pennsylvania,
But I much preferred
The one that Ronnie
Lives in and loves.
