This was a writing exercise to demonstrate "setting" in fiction.
Peeking out the frosty window, she sat at the bench staring at the snowflakes falling. She's never seen snow before. She'd always dreamed of playing in it, but now that she was afforded the opportunity she was scared. Being 7 years old and all alone she now feared everything. The mountains surrounding the cabin we're no longer green and prickly, instead they were blanketed in snow and ice. The little town of Frankfurt was experiencing the worst blizzard in 50 years. As the wind whipped through the trees blowing the snow from one branch to another and from one pile to another the animals scurried about digging back into their burrows. The tracks from the tires of the taxi that whisked her father away were no longer visible; she feared she'd never see him again.
