Religious poetry; contest entry
|I’ve wandered far in search of peace
But, there’s none to be found.
Elusive, yet it haunts me,
By sin I am fast bound.
No one hears my heartfelt prayers.
No still small voice does speak.
No one to guide my daily steps.
My future is quite bleak.
Chaos reigns in this old world.
Violence on every turn.
No God in Heaven hears my plea,
To save my soul, I yearn.
God has gathered up His church,
And I was left behind.
If only I had listened then,
I was self-absorbed and blind.
Now, I am in living hell.
Life’s turmoils never cease.
He was a sinless sacrifice!
Know Jesus, and know peace.
