Auston Matthews put the Leafs ahead 2-1 at 11:08.
There was no scoring in the second period, but Leaf's head coach, Sheldon Keefe wasn't too pleased with his team.
"I thought that second period wore us down tonight," said Keefe.
Keefe, however, also said he was pleased on how his team defended and forced Edmonton to dump the puck.
Just 1:20 into the third period, Kyle Turris tied the game 2-2.
Toronto's Justin Holl had two assists last night.
