Distraction is my key. 48 hour Challenge. Media Prompt - April 9, 2021
I hear the words
but they're not mine
Dread sleeplessness?
Regret it?
Deny it?
Not me.

MY bestiest hours flow,
quiet, uninterrupted,
even my Grandfather clock
too far away for chimes to count,
and the ticks of time unwinding
are definitely unheard.

MY choice to see nothing
but daydreams,
in my wide awake night-dreams
Challenges melt my pain.

All that I do is mine to do,
ALL mine.
The miracle of distraction
has worked it's magic… again,
And though I'm not happy yet,
I'm way less sad.

Any regrets tomorrow?
Ohh no… never.
My reverse day/nights are a choice,
wonderfully well-suited
to one who's longings have slowed,
while imagination sped up.

My sheep don't die,
My brains don't fry,
despite some serious over-heating.
Maybe trying too hard,
but I can't stop trying
Not happy yet,
but WAY less sad.
