A Review of an unusual Dystopian novel. The more intriguing as it's happened before.
This is a dystopian novel, but not far-fetched by any means. I do like a good dystopian book, but it has to be different, and I thought this might be something similar to what I’ve already read. However, I found it more intriguing as time went on, drawn gradually into what would happen to the characters involved. I felt it had roots in a country where this course of action had already been attempted, and failed, then planted, in this novel, into a new country. Because of this, although it was set in the future, I found it was taken from the past, and not the distant past. It felt a bit like a warning, as many dystopian novels are, about control and our reaction to it.
I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys this genre, and perhaps those who usually don’t.
