Matthews scored the first two goals of the game to put the Leafs ahead 2-0.

Despite the win, Leaf's head coach, Sheldon Keefe said at the postgame press conference that his team gave up too much and Ottawa doesn't get enough credit for their success.
Both Matthews and Marner had four points last night.
Ottawa's goalie, Anton Forsberg stopped 32 shots last night.
Toronto is now off to Montreal to play the Canadiens tomorrow night.
