Dreaming while awake
Dreaming is dull when lying in bed.
The dreams of sleep although imaginative
are often so predictable based on the final few
thoughts before drifting away.
Nervous about a speech? Hold on to your teeth
They”re about to fall out.
Have a lot of water before bed?
Hello bubbling brook or raging waterfalll
(It’s all relative).

I prefer to dream in the day.
As I walk down the streets and imagine
how the world will change when I’m dead and gone.
What cities will look like, what the sky will look like as the sun
grows larger and turns into a giant eventually frizzling up every planet
in its gravitational hold.
Or dreaming about my future and what my family
and grandchildren will look like. Will they be famous?

See I like to walk as I dream so I can travel through them.
Give me no bed to ride through my dreams. Give me some hiking
boots and a long stick so I can journey through them.
