|Despite several throwing errors, the Toronto Blue Jays managed to defeat the Tampa Bay Rays last night 5-3.
"I'm really proud of my team," said Jay's manager, Charlie Montoyo at last night's post game press conference.
At the top of the first inning, Rowdy Tellez drove in Vladmir Guerrero jr. with a double to put Toronto ahead 1-0.
Later in the inning, Marcus Semien hit a three run homer.
The Rays got back into the game in the bottom of the fifth inning when Randy Arozarena hit a three run home to make it a 4-3 game.
At the top of the sixth inning, Randal Grichuk hit a solo home run.
Semien went two for four at the plate and had three RBIs.
Jay's starting pitcher, Steven Matz went five innings, allowing five hits, three earned runs, two walks and struck out seven batters.
Arozarena went two for four at the plate and had three RBIs.
Ray's starting pitcher, Tyler Glasnow went six innings, allowing five hits, five earned runs, two walks, and struck out 10 batters.
