|What a night for Toronto Blue Jay's slugger, Vladmir Guerrero Jr.
Guerrero Jr. hit three home runs last night, including, a grand slam in a 9-5 home win over the Washington Nationals.
It didn't start out that good for the Jays in the beginning.
At the top of the fist inning, National's Trea Turner hit a solo home run.
Turner hit another solo home run at the top of the third inning to put his team ahead 2-0.
Then, later that same inning, Yadiel Hernandez hit a solo home run.
In the bottom of the third inning, Guerrero Jr. quickly put Toronto ahead 4-3 with a grand slam.
Toronto went ahead 5-3 in the bottom of the fourth inning when Joe Panik scored on an error.
Later in the inning, Alejandro Kirk scored on a sacrifice fly by Cavan Biggio.
In the bottom of the fifth inning, Guerrero Jr. hit a solo home run.
Washington got back into the game when Ryan Zimmerman hit a two run homer to make it a 7-5 game.
In the bottom of the seventh, Guerrero Jr, hit a two run homer.
Guerrero Jr. went three for four at the plate and had seven RBI's.
Jay's manager, Charlie Montoyo said at last night's postgame press conference that seeing Guerrero Jr. hit is fun to watch.
Jay's starting pitcher, Trent Thornton went 2.1 innings, allowing three hits, two earned runs, no walks, and struck out two batters.
Turner went two for four at the plate and had two RBIs.
National's starting pitcher, Max Scherzer went five innings, allowing eight hits, five earned runs, two walks, and struck out five batters.
