A column about Washington Capital's player, Tom Wilson
|The big news in the hockey world yesterday was Monday night's Washington Capitals/New York Rangers game.
A brawl broke out during the game.
In the middle of it was Washington's tough guy, Tom Wilson.
During the brawl, Wilson pummelled Ranger's star player, Artemi Panarin and threw multiple punches to the head.
By the way, Panarin had no helmet on.
The National Hockey League fined Wilson $5,000 for the incident.
The Rangers, of course, are up in arms about Wilson's punishment.
The team feels that Wilson deserved a suspension.
Social media was buzzing yesterday about Wilson.
The reason why there is such an uproar about what happen in New York Monday night is because this is not the first time Wilson has been in trouble with the league.
In March of this year, Wilson got a seven game suspension for an illegal hit on Boston Bruin's Brandon Carlo.
In May of 2018, Wilson was suspended three playoff games for an illegal check on Pittsburgh Penguin's Zach Aston-Reese.
Then, in October of 2018, he was suspended 14 games for an illegal hit on St.Louis Blue's Oskar Sundqvist.
To me, Wilson is nothing, but a goon.
Tonight, the Rangers play the Capitals again and you bet your bottom dollar it is going to be tense.
I guarantee it.
