Magic Beans
That's what he was told
They would grow and grow
A sight to behold

So Jack dug a hole
In the garden deep
Planted the magic beans
Then went to sleep

In the morning
Growing into the sky
A giant stalk Jack did see
Past the clouds so high

Throwing caution to the wind
The stalk he did climb
Higher and higher Jack went
Leaving the earth behind

Finally the top he did reach
The land firm and strong
He decided to take a peek
Vowing not to be long

A path, he did follow
'Til a cabin he did spy
Slowly he stepped to the door
He was afraid, no lie

The door opened wide
And so did Jack's eyes
A reflection with no mirror
It was quite the surprise

Jack stood staring at Jack
The two were one and the same
Right down to the stray forelock
This was obviously no game

Jack told his story
The beans, the stalk, the climb
He left nothing out
It took but a short time

Jack was stunned to the core
In his hand he held some beans
The magic kind of course
The rest the Jack's could glean

The boys did wonder
How far did this go?
Is there infinite Jacks?
And did they want to know?

The Jack's made a decision
Two Jacks were quite enough
They would stifle their curiosity
Even though it was tough

The Boys said "Goodbye"
Jack descended back to earth
Then he chopped down the stalk
And fed it to the hearth
