The human gene puddle is way too shallow,
We belong to a species guaranteed to go extinct.
We won't survive the mass extinction, whatever you think.
The human gene puddle is way too shallow,
Eight billion of us children in ancestral Eve's shadow.
One third of all species considered at risk.
The loss of each keystone forces us closer to the brink.

As a species, we are too highly specialized.
Big brains need feeding, without a lot to eat we quickly die.
Of mass extinctions, one thing has proved true.
Top species always lose, ammonite trilobite sauropod or you.
Breed if you want to, it matters not a bit.
Extinction is happening now. Nature doesn't care if you see it.
