life as usual within a city park

snake slithered slowly by
as it headed for the hole
proud prairie dogs rallied their cry
a loud and raucous whole
coyote passed unperturbed
while hunting its morning meal
animals here are undisturbed
by humanity's grand ordeal
a haven of wildlife tucked within
this sprawling city's embrace
desensitized to the urban din
remaining safe within this place
