Mercado went four for five at the plate.
Cleveland's Owen Miller had three RBIs.
Cleveland's starting pitcher, J.C. Mejia lasted just 2.1 innings, allowing seven hits and eight earned runs.
Mejia now has a record of 1-7 and an earned run average of 9.24.
