Mourning the loss of my fiance
In the deep quiet

I have become ghost-like
haunting the places
our memories walk
hoping you'll see me
holding on to you

in pieces

floating with the rythym
of your heartbeat
your chest against my cheek

living in the echoes of your laughter

feeling the timber of your voice
your breath around my name

and I know
if I could just carry you
like this
across this ethereal void
I could make us whole again.

but they remain, these pieces
elusive in their ghostliness
persistent as my tears

beautifully incandescent
in the deep quiet
of my soul.
