#62 from the pendulum

Violins play sad notes
For you to sing along
As you remember
The moment of my birth.
You thought your pain was over.
(Divine solace,
Timeless tears
Of sadness and of joy
In my mother's eyes...)
It's too long ago
To wipe away drops
Of new water spills,
Too long ago
To remember
Every detail
Of our lives together.
"Why" will be answered.
Thirty years have passed
In your life since that day.
Dining with untold stories,
Hungering for more
Inside us nipping
Keeps vestments turning
Smoke to ash
Under silver skies.
