|Toronto Blue Jay's pitcher, Jose Berrios defeated his former team, the Minnesota Twins yesterday 5-3.
At the postgame press conference, Berrios said facing his former team wasn't a factor. He just wanted to win the game.
"I don't have any pressure to beat them, (Minnesota)," said Berrios.
Berrios pitched 6.2 innings, allowing just three earned runs and striking out six batters.
The Jays scored all five runs in the bottom of the first inning.
Vladimir Guerrero Jr., Lourdes Gurriel Jr., and Breyvic Valera all hit RBI singles.
Guerrero Jr. went three for four at the plate.
Bo Bichette hit a two run homer.
Jay's reliever, Jordan Romano got his 19th save of the season.
Twin's Nick Gordon hit a two run double at the top of the fourth inning and Ben Rortvedt hit a solo home run at the top of the seventh inning.
Twin's starting pitcher, Luke Farrell last just an inning, allowing seven hits, and five earned runs.
Toronto is in Florida tonight to begin a three game series with the Tampa Bay Rays.
The Jays have 13 games remaining on their schedule.
