A metaphysical meditation
Walking down a path,
Where birds sang so sweetly,
Soothing my heart
I stopped to consider.
Every life is enormous to itself,
no matter how small,
To the beetle that rolls dung
into a little ball,
Its toil is equal to the building
of a cathedral.
To the martin,
Its swoops in the sky
Are perfect art.
The coyote
That runs down a rabbit
Thinks it is the
Prince of the plains.
A voice cries out across the universe:
Let me live!
