Grain is binned
Hay is baled
Leaves have turned
Sky has paled
Spring calves are weaned
Ice cream hut’s closed
The RV’s ready
For winter snows
Summer jackets
Packed away
Toques and parkas
Here to stay
All of this
For just one reason--
Because October
framed the season.
