Walking in the Autumn
Fall is the best time to walk I think,
feet crunching the dry leaves below,
breeze tickling all your senses.
You push away the hair,
that seems to escape,
from its cover.
A slow smile,
a laugh.
Joy!

What's that I see running through the woods?
Two squirrels are chasing each other.
Taking time off from storing,
food away for winter.
They love the fall too,
last chance to play
for the snow
will soon
arrive.

Above me I hear the honking noise,
of geese, flying their V pattern.
They are such noisy creatures.
Now they land in the lake.
And I must leave too.
but I've enjoyed,
this last walk
of the
year.
