Distilled Hypocrisy

one drip becomes a monsoon
a veritable tirade
that shouts down Veritas
that gentle Goddess
in an ocean of hatred and
self righteousness

promulgates the very beliefs
it pretends to defend
Salem castigation, condemnation
turns rabid upon any dissent
and vilifies with full contempt
retrospectively and irrationally

I do not partake
but look on and despair
