In the Wilds of Time

In the Wilds of Time,
the Makers keep watch over their minions:
the ones that run fast,
the ones that run slow,
those that run amok mocking their Makers —
mock those who need to arrive on time.

In the Wilds, the ticking, the tocking,
the insistent stalking of those who oversleep
or cannot sleep or dare not sleep,
who dream of the end of time —
just seconds away
as clocks bleep.
