When I was young and foolish
When I did young and foolish things,
When I was a young man
When I was wearing a younger man’s clothes.

When one day I took a greyhound bus ride
When I lost my pass, stolen no doubt, ,
When I was outside of Winnemucca
When I went to Salt Lake City.

When I started hitchhiking the land,
When I was young and foolish
When I was 18 years old,
When it was back in the mid-’70s,.
