Office party flirting makes for a sleepless night
There you go again
making promises with your eyes
I imagine how you taste and move
and can’t suppress a sigh.

Your hands lay folded in your lap
graceful, lyrically
I need them to compose my skin
to be your symphony.

You work the room with poise and grace
Italian suit, Costa-Rican skin
from across the bar I trace your face
my giddy heart in spastic rhythm.

Our circles finally intersect
hand comes to rest upon your thigh
sapphire dress conjures what’s next
birthday glimmers still dance in your eyes.

You and me will come undone
skittish hearts avoiding rapture
rain unleashes as I drive home
a near miss again evading capture.
