Quitting you is hard
I’ve tried before to quit you
But forgetting you ain’t easy
Like and addict suffering from withdrawal
I’m restless and I’m queasy.

It’s not that I don’t want
To live a normal life again
It’s just that I’m not ready
for this fantasy to end.

Because you’re the fire and the flood
A third degree burn and it’s soothing salve
You’re now a sickness coursing through my blood
That even modern medicine can’t resolve.

So what’s a girl to do
this one who tried to quit you?
Who upon seeing you again
just collapses and caves in?

I’m a train wreck
but you’re a sickness
who’s made me a slave
to my own weakness.

The flames are hot
your indifference cooler
though you’ve staked your claim
as my heart’s cruel ruler.

So what’s a girl to do
this one who tried to quit you?
Who upon seeing you again
just collapses and caves in?

You are the fire and the flood
The third degree burn and it’s soothing s
You’re now a sickness coursing through my blood
That even modern medicine can’t resolve.
