A poem about dreams and missing life.

Things I desire,
through a child’s eyes.
Seemed important,
I won’t deny.

But it fades away,
with increasing age.
We start running through life,
and keep turning the page.

We work day and night,
establish careers, make dough.
But we burn through the money.
Where did it all go?

Our running gets faster,
more hectic with speed.
We run without plans.
What was the need?

What did we miss?
As we ran with blinders on?
A girl, a kiss, a melody?
A sweet romantic song.
